Prayer Heals… that was the focal point when more than 100 women gathered at the Kwa Nokuthula Hall to pray for all chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, TB and HIV/AIDS etc. on Thursday 21 August 2014.
This prayer meeting was organized by the Bitou Local Aids Council (BLAC) in conjunction with the Department of Health to pray for our mothers, women and children who find themselves struggling with these chronic illnesses.
Sister Robby from the Department of Health, encouraged women to share the burden and give support to those who are affected and infected by these illnesses, to take their treatment often and she further said that “We as the Department of Health, will always be helpful and also give support to the needy, ensuring that all those who are being diagnosed with these epidemics are coping. Furthermore we are trying to open helpful ways of managing stress levels for those who are living with these chronic illnesses”.
Bitou Municipality’s Cllr E Paulse motivated the women to face their challenges and keep on praying until they receive their answers, and make use of the platforms that are presented to them.
