Bitou Municipality in partnership with South Africa Safety and Security Sector officially launched a learnership programme for 150 students on Wednesday, 22 October 2014 at KwaNokuthula Community Hall in Plettenberg Bay.
South Africa Safety and Security Sector is committed to equip as well as to enhance the youth with skills developments through these learnerships. 50 Artisan students will undergo 12 months of methodological training and practical experience while 100 will be doing Business Administration. Learnership is stated to commence in November 2014.
The Sasseta and Flagships practitioner Ms. Manoke Setsetse said “ we as SASSETA conducts these learnerships in this District to upskill young people, because we believe by providing them with skills development we are eliminating high employment rate and enhance their availability in the labour market”. She furthermore emphasized the students commitment in these learnerships.
The Launch was well attended by Bitou Executive Mayor, Speaker, Councillors and officials from Bitou Municipality, and the learners.
