Bitou Municipality’s new fleet unveiled to boost service delivery

New fleet unveiled

Bitou Municipality received new vehicles to boost and strengthen the municipality’s service delivery departments.

His Worship, Executive Mayor, Cllr. Peter Lobese was very excited with the addition of new vehicles urging officials to take care of the vehicles. He also said that this would help curb delays and improve our response time to service delivery calls.

Manager of Fleet, Mr. Sujeeth Sunkar said all the vehicles underwent branding and installation of tracking devices. This means that it will be easily identifiable to the public and the fleet Manager will be able to monitor the whereabouts of his fleet via real time tracking over and above. The Municipality is also using a banking card system to manage and control the fuel usage.

The new fleet includes two sedans, high-rise bakkies, trucks as well as a tractor for those who have to deliver services on more rugged terrain. Three (3) more trucks will be delivered next week taking care of refuse and electricity.

Expressing their excitement at the new vehicles that will boost service delivery is the Executive Mayor, Cllr. Peter Lobese; Deputy Executive Mayor, Cllr. Sandiso Gcabayi; Acting Municipal Manager, Mr. Thozamile Sompani; Director of Engineering Services, Mr. Michael Rhode and Manager: Fleet Management, Mr. Sujeeth Sunkar
