CWP Eden Wellness Programme has been initiated By Samkelo Majo Eden District Coordinator with CEO’s of AFSA/ITHUNGA Consortium Thembeka Zondi. The CWP programme implemented in all Eden Municipalities invited all CWP teams across the district including The District Mayor to the Event but due to special Council he could not make and the Bitou local Municipality was also invited to speak on role of CWP in communities.
The wellness programme has been initiated in order to:
*Support the hospitals and clinics to improve its service delivery
*Assist people to become active in their communities by participating in HIV/AIDS and health projects
*Support the local education system with after-school classes, which develops the knowledge and skills of young people to the appropriate national level.
Vision – We are a connected community comprising of holistic, healthy and empowered individuals in an optimally developed and fairly managed sustainable environment.
Mission – Community action for sustainable community development to be an optimally informed, monitored, open and accessible hub with relevant examples, tools and networks for making positive choices about how to live.
Our approach –“Promoting a self-sustainable development” We believe in facilitation; allowing the communities to take ownership of the programme themselves, empowering them to face the challenges affecting them, and also ensuring that they are sustainable. Eden Wellness Community Outreach’s programme include improving pathways to HIV/AIDS awareness, treatment and care, health promotion, education, and natural resource management.
