Western Cape Minister of Human Settlements, Mr Bonginkosi Madikizela, accompanied by Western Cape Minister of Governance, Mr Donald Grant, Bitou Municipality Executive Mayor, Cllr Memory Booysen and Delegation from Bitou Municipality handed over keys to the nine beneficiaries who received Low Cost houses at the ribbon cutting event in Kurland, on Monday 04 November.
The event started with a formal public participation engagement, in which Minister Madikizela was a keynote speaker. The beneficiaries are aged between 20 and 70 years of age.
189 of the 194 Low Cost houses are complete. Minister Madikizela said that “We are still happy that there were people who benefited from this project, some are benefiting now, and others will in future, the government will not stop in striving towards provision of houses for the homeless”.
He urged the community to take care of the houses.
