Pre-Seasonal Readiness Workshop for Informal Traders
                                                    28 - 29 October 2025
Bitou Municipality hereby invites local informal traders to attend a two-day pre-seasonal
readiness workshop
The festive season attracts many tourists and visitors into Plett and as such there will be
an increasing demand for local goods and services.
Without proper guidance and preparation, traders may face challenges related to compliance
and safety which could undermine their potential for beneficiation, and worse, their trading
permits revoked for non-compliance.

The workshop will cover the following:

• Regulatory compliance with the relevant municipal by-laws and other statutory
requirements (trading times, permissible items, municipal tariffs, trading permits
applications etc.)
• Health and Safety (occupational health, certificates of compliance, certificates of
acceptability etc.)
• Waste management
• Business licensing and registration processes
• Conflict resolution and trader rights

The workshop will take place as follows:

Venue: Piesang Valley Hall
Time: 09h00 - 16h00 daily
Dates: 28 - 29 October 2025

Transport will be provided for interested Informal Traders staying in these in these areas:
• The Crags, Kranshoek, Kwanokuthula, Qolweni, Bossiesgif and New Horizons
