Please note that due to the inability of all stakeholders to comply with the statutory and legislative requirements of the National Building Regulations and Building Standards Act, Act 103 of 1977 during the festive season and Council recess, No Building Control related applications will be processed during the period 15 December 2025 until 12 January 2026. 

Building plan applications may be submitted on the understanding that they will only be processed as from 12 January 2026.

PROCESSING OF LAND USE APPLICATIONS DURING THE FESTIVE PERIOD

Please note that due to the inability of stakeholders to comply to the legislated requirements relating to timeframes associated with Bitou Municipal Land Use Planning By-law (commenting on land development applications), no applications will be published or served on relevant stakeholders during the holiday period, starting from 21 November 2025 until 9 January 2026. This is to ensure that an open and transparent public participation process is promoted, affording interested and affected parties and Departments a fair opportunity to participate in the public participation process.

Applications may be submitted during this period and will still be accepted and checked for completeness. Pre-application consultations can still be arranged by e-mail or telephonically with the relevant officials.
