Bitou Municipality hereby informs residents, businesses, and road users of the upgrading of High Street. The construction work will take place over a 4-month period (Phase 1), with the planned completion date of 30 June 2026. The project scope of works includes the following improvements: 

• Construction of new pavement layers and rehabilitation of the existing road surface. 

• Development of parking areas and sidewalks along the road.

 • Rehabilitation of existing stormwater infrastructure, including installation of new pipes and related structures.

 • Relocation of existing municipal and utility services where required. 

During the construction period, road users may experience temporary traffic disruptions, partial road closures, and construction-related activities within the affected area. The public is kindly requested to exercise caution, follow temporary signage, and cooperate with construction personnel during this period. 

Current Status: The contractor is currently busy with site establishment and mobilisation in preparation for construction activities. Bitou Municipality apologises for any inconvenience caused and appreciates the public's cooperation while these important infrastructure improvements are being undertaken
