Screening of National Memorial Service

Bitou Local Municipality will screen the national memorial service at the Piesang Valley Community Hall so that all residents can come together to mourn the passing away of Tata Madiba.

Bitou Street Party

Bitou Municipality invites you to join us in Main Street as we celebrate the life and gift of reconciliation given to us by Madiba, from 16h00 till 21h00 on Sunday 15 December.

Main street will be closed for music, dance and poetry performances by local Lunchbox Theatre artists and a variety of stalls with an interesting local flavour. We will also honour Madiba with a moment of silence and light our candles in his memory (a limited number of candles will be distributed).

Get the Christmas feeling as our Honourable Mayor, Memory Booysen switches on the Christmas lights to usher us into the 2013 holiday season.

Come together and celebrate as one, the gift of Reconciliation.

*In the event of bad weather, the street fest will be moved to Monday 16 December 2013

Screening of State Funeral

Bitou Local Municipality will be screening the STATE FUNERAL at the Piesang Valley Community Hall. All residents are welcome, so that we can bid farewel to the Late President Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela.

Kranshoek Summer Games 2013

09 December 2013 - 14 December 2013

Kranshoek community, Plettenberg Bay is hosting a first ever Summer Program which will be hosted from 9 December to 14 December 2013 in partnership with Western Cape Government: Cultural Affairs and Sport and supported by South Western District Sport Development Office.

The week program will feature various sport codes such as netball, chess, indigenous games and cycling  and further accompanied by soccer, rugby which will lead to a day of sport recreation on Saturday, 14 December 2013 where the MEC of Sport Dr Ivan Meyer will grace us with his presence and participate in a community cycling race through the streets of Kranshoek.

This event has sparked mass excitement amongst the community and focuses on sustainable cohesion between all sport codes and healthy living. We invite all locals and interested groups to participate in the weeks program kicking off and hosted daily from 9-13 December (Monday to Friday – 10h00 to 12h00) and 14 December (Saturday 11h00 – 15h00).

Closing of Plettenberg Bay Library

In accordance with article 14 of regulations P.K. 689/1980 a stocktake should be done in all libraries affiliated with Western Cape Government. A stocktake is due at Plettenberg Bay Public Library and is planned for 3 – 5 February 2014.

Opening of the E Centre at the Thusong Service Centre

You are cordially invited to the OPENING OF THE E CENTRE AT THE THUSONG SERVICE CENTRE, hosted by the Executive Mayor of Bitou, Councillor Memory Booysen.

This ceremony will take place on the 21st March 2014 at the THUSONG SERVICE CENTRE in Kwanokuthula.

Services which will be offered include basic ICT skills such as internet browsing, emailing, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint competency.

Access to the internet is also offered and is free for 45 minutes per day. Cape Access was very eager to consider our request and as a result of that the E-Centre will be opened with 20 computers.
