DEPARTMENT : OFFICE OF THE MUNICIPAL MANAGER

DIVISION : INTERNAL AUDIT AND RISK MANAGMNENT

SECTION : INTERNAL AUDIT

BASIC SALARY : R 152 593.98 – R 198 069.17 (T9) + MUNICIPAL BENEFITS

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:* Relevant B degree or 3year diploma in Internal Auditing or equivalent;* 1 Year appropriate audit experience;* Knowledge of the Standards of the Professional Practice of Internal Audit;* Knowledge of the legal framework in the public sector including the MFMA, Treasury Regulations and etc.; * Sound organizational skills, self-disciplined and ability to work independently; * Must be able to communicate in at least two of the official provincial languages.

FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:* Responsible for the execution of the audit program, preparation of audit working papers;* Documenting systems, processes, controls, analysing the workflow- processes, conducting interviews, testing and/or verifying information and data in order to identify key risk areas;* Evaluate the effectiveness and adequacy of internal controls;* Documenting working papers in accordance with Audit Methodology requirements;* Identifying and reporting areas of control weaknesses which require management attention;* Drafting audit findings accurately for reporting purposes;* Completion of plans and ad-hoc assignments/projects efficiently, effectively and in a timely manner;* Performing audit follow-ups;* Deliver assigned tasks with minimal technical error;* Collection of information and evidence to support findings.
