POSITION: MANAGER INTEGRATED HUMAN SETTLEMENT

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: ● B Degree in Public Administration, and / or Technical Qualification in the Building Industry preferably with a legal background or equivalent NQF level 7 ● 5 Years relevant experience

ADDED ADVANTAGE● Compliance with the Municipal Regulations on Minimum Competency levels for Senior Managers – Gazette No. 29967 of 15 June 2007

REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS:  ●Background knowledge of the building industry● Proficiency in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape (read, write and speak) ● Good management, human relations, interpersonal and communication skills ● Analytical skills ● High level of responsibility and confidentiality ● Ability to give attention to detail ● Ability to work under pressure ● Knowledgeable about relevant legislation  ● Computer literacy (MS Office applications) ●Willingness to work after normal working hours, on standby, during emergencies and planned overtime ●Valid Drivers’ License

FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES: ●   Manage and control the key performance and result indicators associated with the provisioning of Human Settlement and emergency housing needs in the Municipality ● Research, develop and participate in the implementation of strategic plans associated with the functionalities of the Division ● Manage, monitor and control operational/ capital projects and budget of the Division ● Manage and monitor the implementation of Risk Management and Supply Chain Management strategies ● Manage and controls specific statutory legislative requirements with respect to contracts, tenders, licensing, queries and disputes ● Disseminate information and guidance with relation to performance management of the human capital of the Division ● Render management and line function administrative support services to the Division ● Keeping abreast of current trends, legislative changes and technological developments in the industry.
