The Water and Sanitation services is mainly responsible for the continual supply of good healthy water to all the Bitou residents and to ensure that water quality complies with the South African National Standards (SANS 241). The department is also responsible for the control of pollution in the environment and our water resources.

The roads section is primarily responsible for the maintenance and rehabilitation of the Municipal paved and unpaved roads within the Bitou area.

Bitou Municipality currently has a total Fleet of 125 vehicles, comprising of Sedans, LDV`s, Plant, Small, Heavy and Extra heavy commercial vehicles. 

The Engineering Services Department, previously known as Public Works, comprises five sections, namely: Water Quality Control, Project Management, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, Roads and Stormwater and Fleet Management
